Description: The family Chloroperlidae contains many genera that are probably found in Alberta. Apparently some larvae of this little-studied family in Alberta are carnivorous while other larvae feed on plant material. Larvae have short cerci and their wing pads are more rounded than divergent. Length (not including the tails) of the Alloperla photo specimen is about 7 mm. Photograph: Cheryl Podemski
